The story
The championship was launched in 2013, the year of the club’s founding decree, and became the event by which the club is known in world taekwondo. In 2016 it was upgraded to the G2 ranking, the first Gulf tournament to earn it from the international federation.
It grew year on year: past a thousand participants in 2019, a record 2,000 athletes from 43 countries in 2020, and in 2025 its largest field yet, 2,332 athletes, making it the largest taekwondo championship in the world.
Its eleventh edition took bronze at the SPIA Awards 2025 for best sporting event, recognising an organisation that brings athletes from five continents to Fujairah’s courts every season.
The first Gulf tournament ranked G2, and the largest taekwondo championship in the world.
