Open data policy

Fujairah Martial Arts Club is committed to adopting open data principles in line with the United Arab Emirates’ direction toward transparency and good governance, and to enabling data-driven innovation.

1. Purpose of this policy

This policy governs how the club publishes non-sensitive data to the public, researchers, developers and partner entities, in a way that strengthens institutional transparency, supports data-driven decision making, and encourages community innovation in the sports and martial arts sector.

2. Open data principles

  • Open by design: data is published in its raw, machine-readable form whenever possible.
  • Transparency: we clarify the source of each dataset, its update frequency and its collection method.
  • Quality and accuracy: data is reviewed before publication to ensure it is accurate and complete.
  • Easy access: our data is made available through free channels without unnecessary technical restrictions.
  • Privacy protection: we never publish any personal or sensitive data that identifies individuals.
  • Sustainability: datasets are updated periodically according to the published schedule for each one.

3. Data classification

Club data is classified into four categories under the UAE’s adopted data classification framework:

  • Open data: publishable and usable by anyone without restriction (e.g. general statistics and events).
  • Shared data: made available to specific entities under data-sharing agreements (e.g. government bodies and sports federations).
  • Confidential data: for internal use only (e.g. detailed financial data).
  • Sensitive data: includes members’ and players’ personal data, and is never published under any circumstances.

4. Publishing and update mechanism

The IT team coordinates with relevant departments to review and publish datasets through the club’s open data portal, with a clear update frequency defined for each dataset (monthly, quarterly or annually, depending on the nature of the data).

5. Requesting additional data

Any individual or entity may submit a request to publish a dataset that is not currently available, via the “Suggestions, Complaints and Inquiries” service in the club’s services guide. The request will be reviewed and a response provided within the service’s defined timeframe.
