The Emirates Wrestling, Judo and Kickboxing Federation, in cooperation with the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, will organize the Fujairah Open Judo Championships, tomorrow, Friday, at the gymnasium in the city of Merbah, with the participation of about 400 players from various clubs and sports centers in the country, led by Al-Jazira clubs, the Kalba Union, Al-Wahda, Al-Dhafra, Al-Ain and Dubai Judo Kai. Dubai Team, Ajman, Sharjah, Niugera Club, Maharat Center, Gulf Center, Khorfakkan Center and Fujairah Martial Arts Club.
Mohammed bin Thaloub Al Derei, Chairman of the Emirates Wrestling, Judo and Kickboxing Federation, expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah and Chairman of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, for the unlimited support that paved the way for the development of judo in a distinctive way, starting from the Fujairah Arts Club He praised the club’s hosting of the Fujairah Open Judo Championship and the efforts made by the club’s vice-chairman and CEO Ahmed Hamdan Al-Zeyoudi to make the hosting a success and to appear in a proper manner, stressing that holding the first tournament in Fujairah comes in appreciation of the emirate’s outstanding efforts in developing individual sports, including judo. The establishment of these tournaments in the various emirates of the country is part of the Federation's strategy that seeks to spread the game of judo and allow parents to closely follow their children during competitions, and to encourage other talented athletes to practice it in the future.
On the other hand, the Fujairah Martial Arts Club is striving to produce the tournament in an organized and technical way. The competitions are scheduled to start at ten in the morning and end at five in the evening, and include competitions for under 10 years and 12-17 years old.
