The second edition of the Fujairah International Triathlon Championship on November 23 is characterized by 4 factors, most notably the addition of a new category (Olympic), the most attractive and required category in global races, the participation of Emirati women for the first time in Fujairah, increasing the race distances, in addition to choosing the owners of strong levels in the race. To represent the country in the West Asian Championship next December in Bahrain.
The founder, administrator and player of the Fujairah Triathlon team, tournament director Mohsen Al Ali, confirmed the emirate's readiness to launch the tournament organized by the Fujairah Martial Arts Club under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, and in cooperation with the Emirates Triathlon Association.
He pointed out that the game has become an important sport despite its modernity, especially as it started with 4 citizens at the state level, and today it has reached 40, expecting about 300 players to participate in the race from the UAE and abroad.
The championship director said that the race includes 4 categories: the first category for short distances (sprint) and includes 375 meters swimming, 10 km bicycle and 2 km running, the second category (super sprint) includes 750 meters swimming and 20 km bicycle, 5 km running, the Olympic category. The longest includes 40 km of bicycles, 1.5 km of swimming, and 10 km of running, in addition to the race for children under 13 years of age, with distances ranging between 150 meters swimming and 1 km running.
