40 countries participated in the Women's Fencing World Cup in Fujairah

Yesterday evening, at the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, a press conference was held to announce the organization of the Fencing World Cup for Women, which will start on the 19th of this month at the Zayed Sports Complex, under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of the Emirate of Fujairah and President of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club.

Engineer Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Asian, Arab and Emirati Fencing Federations and a member of the Executive Office of the International Fencing Federation, and Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah, announced the details of the tournament.

The number of participants increased to 180 players from 40 countries from different continents of the world, and the delegations begin to arrive in the land of the country, as of Tuesday, May 16.

Sheikh Eng. Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of the Emirate of Fujairah and President of the Fujairah Club for Martial Arts, for sponsoring the tournament, which will, God willing, ensure the success of this great global event. As His Highness used to sponsor and support us for all sporting events organized by the state, our championship had the honor of being sponsored by His Highness, so we and the Emirati fencing family have all our thanks and gratitude.

He also thanked Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al-Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince, for his support and the good efforts made by the brothers in the Fujairah Club for Martial Arts in organizing this great global sporting event.

He singled out his thanks to the National Olympic Committee, the General Sports Authority and all the committees working in the tournament.

And the media for their presence and support for the championship and the activities of the UAE Fencing Federation

Sheikh Salem Al Qasimi added: "Organizing an international tournament in Fujairah and hosting a group of world champions will give our players the opportunity to interact with these international players and benefit from their experiences. The tournament is also one of the tournaments that qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics."

Ahmed Hamdan Al-Zeyoudi expressed his happiness at organizing this tournament, which represents an important addition to the agenda of sporting events hosted by the Emirate of Fujairah, especially as it relates to an important Olympic sport.
