Yesterday, the delegation of the national wrestling team arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in preparation for participating in the Arab wrestling championship and the championship of the late Mostafa Ibrahim, who won gold in the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam.
The tournament will be held in the International Hall of the Police Sports Federation in Cairo, with the participation of more than 200 players from 12 countries, from 22 to 26 November.
The wrestling team's delegation included, alongside technical director Shaaban Al-Sayed, general coach Tawfiq Ibrahim, coach of the Fujairah team, and 4 players: Abdullah Omran, Khaled Yasser Al-Zahmi, Khalifa Al-Hafiti, and Abdullah Rashid, from Fujairah Martial Arts Club, winner of the Federation Cup Wrestling Championship, and the National Open Day Championship for Wrestling. For 2019, which recently concluded in Sharjah.
The participation in the tournament will be followed by the establishment of a camp for the Fujairah team on the sidelines of the tournament, in continuation of the club's interest in combat games, which provided many young players in support of the national teams.
He thanked Mohammed bin Thaloub Al Derei, President of the Emirates Wrestling and Judo Federation, Chairman and members of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, and especially His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Supreme President of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, for his direct interest, which contributed to attracting many promising players. Perhaps the recent opening of the new club headquarters in Fujairah is evidence of the great support that these games find from His Highness, which contributes to the advancement of these sports.
