The Fujairah International Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship concluded its fifth edition yesterday, with the participation of players from 46 local, regional and international clubs, with the tournament witnessing a 20% growth in the number of participating players compared to the previous edition.
"Commando Group" club topped the competitions with 4,040 points, followed by Al Wahda Club in second place with a total of 2,472 points, and "AFNT" club in third place with a total of 2011 points.
The Fujairah International Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship attracted 14 clubs in the UAE to compete and win the largest number of medals, which contributes to raising the classification of their points over the 2018-2019 sports season, in addition to the classification that each player will obtain through his participation, and the result he achieved within his competitions. .
The tournament witnessed an exceptional presence of the public, observers and interested people who flocked from different regions of the country to support their players and clubs, given the great importance that the tournament enjoys for the community in the emirate.

She pointed out that the mass attendance of the competitions in Fujairah confirms the extent of public interest from clubs, followers, and parents, to encourage their favorite players, and enhance the attendance of the championship at the national level.
For his part, Yousef Abdullah Al-Batran, Board Member of the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, valued the unlimited support provided by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, for his generous sponsorship of the tournament, which contributed to strengthening the tournament’s standing and attracting elite players.
Al-Batran stressed that the championship, on its second day, witnessed great developments in terms of the strong technical level of the players, with the aim of their efforts to raise their classification, and finally reach the podium at the end of the sports season.
Al-Batran expected that the upcoming tournaments and competitions within the 2018-2019 sports season would witness new developments, and the participation of exceptional players, in light of the clubs entering the race to climb the ladder of classification approved by the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, on their way to winning the shield of excellence granted annually by the Federation to the best club in terms of Ranking points, and quality posts recorded throughout the season.
The player Maha Al-Hinai, who won the gold in the 55-kg category, in the purple belt category, said that she faced strong competition, but her determination and constant determination to achieve victory was an incentive to reach the podium and win gold.
Al Hinai indicated that she benefited from her participation last week in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Tour competitions, in which she won second place, which is an introduction to continuing to win and excel in other local and international tournaments, within the 2018-2019 sports season.
For her part, Gabriel Pisinha, who won the gold in the 90 kg category in the brown belt, expressed her happiness to participate in this tournament, which is of great importance among jiu-jitsu players, noting that the atmosphere of the tournament enhances self-confidence and the ability to win.
Black belt player Diego Medeiros, who won gold in the 69kg weight category, said: “I performed at an outstanding level, thanks to the preparations and training I went through before the tournament. I was fortunate enough to get the gold medal, and I am proud of my performance and participation in this exceptional sports stadium.” .
For her part, the player Nadia Milo, who holds a black belt and won the gold in the 62 kg category, confirmed that she fought a fair and strong competition, to be able to give her best on the rug.
