The Fujairah Martial Arts Club won the overall cup in the UAE Open Taekwondo Championship, which concluded its competitions yesterday in the individual games hall in Sharjah Club with the participation of 13 clubs and centers from all the emirates of the country, during which the Fujairah champions were able to collect 47 colored medals, including 15 gold, 18 silver, and 14 Bronze, and Sharjah Club came in second place, while Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club ranked third.
Sheikh Saud bin Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, son of His Highness the Crown Prince of Sharjah, witnessed the final competitions and distributed prizes to the winners in the presence of Major General Salem Obaid Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Sharjah Club, Zayed Al Suwaidi, Vice President of the Taekwondo Federation, Engineer Suleiman Al Hajri, Head of Individual Games Department, and Ismail Al Hammadi is a member of the Taekwondo Federation, and a number of sports leaders.
Brigadier General Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi congratulated the winning teams in the first places, praising the good organization of the Sharjah Club for individual games and the distinguished role of the Taekwondo referees who contributed to the management of the competitions. He also praised the efforts of the coaches, players and players that led to competitions characterized by strong performance and high sportsmanship.
