Fujairah wins the Super Wrestling Cup title

The Fujairah Martial Arts Club team won the UAE Wrestling Super Cup, which was held yesterday at the Al Ittihad main hall in the Mushrif area in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of Mohammed bin Thaloub Al Derei, President of the Emirates Wrestling and Judo Federation, which witnessed the participation of more than 200 players of different ages and levels, which included the youth and junior championships. With the participation of 9 teams represented in Al Ain, Al Yahar, Emirates Heritage, Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah, Kalba, Fujairah Martial Arts Club, in addition to the newly established Titan Academy team in Abu Dhabi after the tournament witnessed advanced levels that provided the opportunity to select 30 players for age teams.

Al-Fujairah club crowned the Super Golden title with 31 points by winning 3 gold medals in the weight of 38 kg, 59 kg, 85 kg and two silvers. Dubai team came in second place with 25 points, with two golds in the weight 32 kg and 73 kg, and two silvers. The Kalba team came in third place with a score of 31 points. 20 points for two golds in the 35kg and 66kg weight categories, and two silvers.

The team will participate in the Asian Junior Wrestling Championship to be held in the Thai capital, Bangkok, from July 20, and then in the World Wrestling Championship to be held in Athens in early September, in preparation for the 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games.
