His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, stressed the importance of the role of competitions in achieving the spread of sports games globally, pointing to the prestige enjoyed by the Emirate of Fujairah in terms of organizing and hosting international tournaments, and ensuring their success according to the best competitive standards.
This came during the inauguration of His Highness, the activities of the tenth edition of the Fujairah International G2 Taekwondo Championship, in the presence of Sheikh Dr. eastern.
The tournament will be held until February 10 at the Zayed Sports Complex, organized by the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, in cooperation with the Emirates Taekwondo Federation, with the participation of 55 countries from around the world.
His Highness, the Crown Prince of Fujairah, referred to the support of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, for the sports sector and athletes in general, and self-defense games in particular, and the provision of all organizational and logistical resources that enhance the UAE's global presence in the field of martial arts sports.
At the opening ceremony of the tournament, His Highness honored the winning teams and clubs in the third Arab Cup, which concluded its activities on February 3 at the Zayed Sports Complex, praising the results of the tournament and the level of performance of the players in it.
The Fujairah Open Taekwondo Championship coincides with the celebration of the International Taekwondo Federation's 50th anniversary.
The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah, His Excellency Salem Al Zahmi, Advisor to the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah, His Excellency Dr. Chung Won Choi, President of the International Taekwondo Federation, the heads of the Taekwondo Federations, and His Excellency Saeed Abdul Ghaffar, Secretary General of the Public Authority for Sports.
