Fujairah Martial Arts Club player Yassin Nematov won the gold medal for the weight of 73 kg in the Thailand International Judo Championships, played the national anthem and raised the UAE flag on the podiums of the tournament, which concluded yesterday, in which 550 male and female players from 23 countries participated.
The tournament is considered one of the strongest international judo tournaments in Asia and in the world due to the participation of world champions, most notably from Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Brazil and other developed countries in the game.
The family of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club expressed their happiness for the active participation of all members of the team and the achievement of many victories that reflect the unlimited support, care and generous directions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah and President of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, and praised Brigadier Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Executive Director of Fujairah Arts Club. He praised the outstanding results of the judo team in the Thailand International Championship and the club’s player Yassin Nematov over players with outstanding international experience, and crowned this superiority by obtaining the gold medal, wishing For all players more superiority.
Nader Abu Shaweesh, the club's technical director, congratulated the club's family on the victory and described the commitment to training, sportsmanship and the generous care of His Highness the Crown Prince as the reason behind this success. In turn, the team's coach, Dr. Moh Saleh Al-Mouh, revealed that the player Yassin outperformed players from Thailand, Laos and Vietnam in the playoffs and renewed the victory in the final over a player from Vietnam as well.
