The Fujairah Martial Arts Club achieved an unprecedented achievement at the state level in the sport of Taekwondo, as it captured all the cups in the Emirati-Korean Friendship Championship, which was held in the Emirate of Sharjah under the supervision of the Emirates Taekwondo Federation and sponsored by the Korean Embassy and in the presence of His Excellency Yu Jae Song, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the country. And members of the Taekwondo Federation, Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al-Zeyoudi, President of the Taekwondo Federation, and His Excellency Sulaiman Al-Hajri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Individual Games Club. The competitions witnessed the participation of more than a hundred male and female players from various clubs in the country.
The Taekwondo team was able to obtain 29 gold and seven silver medals and was crowned first in all four categories of the tournament, thus being first in the youth, women, men and women categories.
With these achievements, Fujairah begins its journey towards the General Excellence Shield for this season with 304 points obtained in one tournament.
Mr. Nader Abu Shawish, Director of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, said that this result is the result of the intensive training and camps that the team underwent in the previous period, and there is no doubt that it is also a result of the directives of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, President of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club.
He added, “We are pleased to dedicate this achievement to His Highness for the interest and care he provides for sports in general and for the club in particular.”
