28The UAE Champions Harvest Medal on the first day

UAE players won 28 colored medals at the start of the Arab Taekwondo Open Championship, hosted by Fujairah, under the supervision of the Arab and UAE Federations for the game, with the participation of 755 male and female players representing 13 countries from the Arab world.

Our national team was crowned with 6 medals, most notably the gold won by Yasser Samir in the under-48 kg competitions for the youth category after achieving four consecutive victories, as he began his journey towards gold by defeating the Egyptian player Youssef Amr, then he overcame the obstacle of the Saudi player Abdullah Muhannad, and in the semi-finals he beat the The player Ahmed Magdy from Egypt before the sweeping victory in the final match against Youssef Al-Jeddawi, also from Egypt, with a score of 23-3. The player Abdullah Ghuloom won the silver medal in the under 55 kg competitions (youth), and the player Mays Khamis won the silver in the 33 kg weight (women’s weight). The player Sultan Muhammad won the silver medal in the weight of 61 kg (juniors), while the two players Sultan Al-Ali in the weight of 51 kg (youth), and Moza Issa in the weight of 37 kg (women), achieved two bronze, while the UAE clubs and centers achieved a total of 23 colored medals. With 4 gold, 4 silver and 15 bronze.

After the coronation ceremony, Idris Al-Hilali, President of the Arab Federation, praised the distinguished organization by the Fujairah Martial Arts Club and the keenness of the Organizing Committee to provide all the delegations' needs, stressing the importance of holding such gatherings and the Arab Federation's endeavor to spread the sport of Taekwondo on a large Arab scale.

It is noteworthy that the tournament started yesterday with the competitions of juniors and young people of both sexes and witnessed a great competition and an exciting competition between male and female players, to be concluded with men's and women's fights.
