Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the Olympic camp for the selection of Taekwondo referees participating in the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics, organized by the Fujairah Martial Arts Club in cooperation with the Emirates Taekwondo and Karate Federation, begins today. The camp will continue until the 27th of this month with the participation of 100 Referees representing 35 countries from different continents of the world will be selected 20 referees for the Olympics in Brazil, in addition to the presence of 5 referees from the Emirates: Eid Fairouz, Zayed Al Suwaidi, Rashid Mubarak, Abdullah Sorour and Ismail Al Hammadi.
This came during the press conference held at the Novotel Fujairah Hotel, in the presence of Major General (M) Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al-Razuqi, President of the Karate and Taekwondo Federation, Hamdan Al-Zayoudi, director of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, and Ibrahim Al-Nuaimi, a member of the Federation’s Board of Directors. Which the Fujairah Club achieved in organizing major international tournaments, the latest of which is the Fujairah Taekwondo Championship, revealing that the tournament received an evaluation rate of 8 out of 10 by the International Federation of the game, and stressed that this evaluation is considered good and we certainly strive for the best in the upcoming tournaments
For his part, Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al-Razuqi, President of the Game Federation, thanked the family of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club for hosting. Al-Razuqi pointed out that His Highness, the Crown Prince of Fujairah, is the initiative to establish this Olympic camp, which is being held for the first time in the UAE and in an Arab country, indicating that the camp will come out better. The referees who will run the game’s competitions in the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, and that the International Federation of the game blessed the camp in the Emirates and informed all the federations under its banner of the need to send their rulers to Fujairah and therefore there will be 100 international referees in the emirate, indicating that this number is not small and all of these rulers have a degree of referee International and continental, and the most appropriate and worthy will be selected according to international standards, and Al-Razouki alluded to the supervision of a group of expert and high-level referees on the camp, headed by Shaker Shalabat, head of the International Referees Committee of the International Federation.
