Intensive preparations for the Asian Junior Boxing Championships لبطولة

Saeed Abdul Ghaffar, Secretary-General of the General Sports Authority, and Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of the Boxing Federation, discussed, during the meeting held yesterday at the authority’s headquarters in Dubai, the latest preparations to host the Asian Junior Boxing Championship during the period from 8 to 18 October next at Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.

Al Hammadi said that the authority will provide financial support to the federation to organize the event and direct it in the best way, since the tournament is being held for the first time in the country, and it is expected that more than 30 countries in the yellow continent will participate with teams for men and women, expressing the appreciation of the federation’s board of directors for the role of the authority headed by Major General Muhammad Khalfan Al Rumaithi, who supports the games. Individualism in general in the country, noting the tireless follow-up by the Secretary-General, which contributes to overcoming obstacles and facilitating all matters with all concerned parties, especially since the UAE holds the presidency of the AFC after the election of Anas Al-Otaiba as President of the Continental Confederation last November.

On the other hand, the Supreme Committee of the Championship held a meeting yesterday in Fujairah, headed by Mohammed Bukhatir, Vice President of the Emirates Boxing Federation, and in the presence of Abdullah Al-Antali, member of the Board of Directors of the Federation, director of the tournament, Ihab Shtayyeh, representative of the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, Mohammed Nasser, representative of the General Sports Authority, and Khadija Al-Mismari from the Department of Tourism. In Fujairah, Hamad Yousef from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Omar Al-Jabri, Chairman of the Technical Committee, along with representatives of the service departments and Fujairah Police, in addition to Ali Salama, technical secretary of the Boxing Federation, and Bassam Ghanem, Administrative Secretary.

At the beginning of the meeting, everyone expressed their thanks and appreciation to His Highness, the Crown Prince of Fujairah, for his sponsorship of the championship. The Chairman of the Organizing Committee praised the distinguished and civilized infrastructure of the Zayed Sports Complex and its facilities, stressing that it will form the front of the impressive success of the championship.

He praised the spirit of the organizational team and its tireless efforts in preparing for the event, expressing his optimism that the Asian Championship for Juniors and Women will be a new addition to the distinguished organizational successes of the UAE, which used to leave its mark permanently on every event it organizes, whether regional, continental or global.

The meeting included discussing a number of files, most notably the profile, following up on the latest preparations, and discussing the requirements for the championship. Bukhatir thanked all the supporting parties, while Abdullah Al-Antali stressed that the Boxing Federation is proud of the success of its endeavors to host the tournament as one of the most prominent Asian championships, and that the Federation’s choice of the Emirate of Fujairah, including It has advantages that will help make the event a success, especially that it has previously hosted the Gulf Junior Championships and achieved success that exceeded expectations, with the testimony of all delegations.
